When buying art supplies wholesale in India, three brands dominate the school and institutional market: Faber Castell, DOMS, and Camlin (Kokuyo). Each has its strengths, price points, and ideal use cases. This guide helps schools, retailers, and bulk buyers decide which brand to choose for their specific needs.
Faber Castell Art Supplies – Premium Quality
Faber Castell is a German brand with 260+ years of history. Their art supplies are the gold standard for quality in India — vibrant pigments, break-resistant leads, and consistent performance. Faber Castell is the preferred choice for art institutes, premium schools, and professional use.
- Color Pencils: Faber Castell Colour Pencils (12/24/36 sets) — richest pigments, smoothest laydown, best for detailed art work
- Crayons: Faber Castell Crayons — thick, smooth, vibrant. Ideal for primary school art
- Oil Pastels: Faber Castell Oil Pastels — soft, blendable, professional quality
- Geometry Box: Faber Castell Geometry Set — most accurate instruments, durable case
- Best for: Art institutes, premium schools, competitive exam art papers, gifting
- Wholesale price: Higher than DOMS and Camlin, but justified by quality
DOMS Art Supplies – Best Value for Schools
DOMS is India's fastest-growing stationery brand, offering excellent quality at 30–40% lower prices than Faber Castell. DOMS art supplies are the most popular choice for Tamil Nadu school bulk procurement — good quality, affordable, and widely available wholesale.

Camlin (Kokuyo) Art Supplies – Art Specialist Brand
Camlin, now part of Japan's Kokuyo group, is India's most trusted brand for paints and advanced art supplies. Camlin excels in watercolors, poster colors, and brushes — categories where Faber Castell and DOMS have less presence.

Which Brand Should You Buy Wholesale for Schools?
For most Tamil Nadu schools buying art supplies wholesale, the best strategy is: DOMS for color pencils, crayons, and geometry boxes (best value), Camlin for watercolors and poster colors (best quality in paints), and Faber Castell for premium art classes or gifting.
